  • An old home in a tony DC neighborhood gets a new lease on life to reflect the homeowners' aesthetic for modern and simple interiors.

This home had choppy, compact spaces as well as funky floor and ceiling conditions. These needed to be leveled for safety and enable better recessed lighting we added throughout the home.

We cleverly redesigned the kitchen and primary bedroom to maximize space, storage, and efficiency.

In the kitchen, an oddly placed pantry was replaced by a peninsula and seating to make the kitchen feel more spacious and unify it with the family room.

The existing footprint of the primary bath was enlarged and a walk-in closet was added to enhance the suite.

The project included family room furnishings, as well as, the addition of a floating window seat and a coat closet where pantry space was underutilized.

The powder room was also updated, wood floors were refinished throughout and new railings were installed.

Fun fact: artwork was provided by our photographer's lovely wife Carina Tenaglia. Follow her work @carinatenagliaart.

I get overwhelmed with too many choices and liked that the design team provided me with just a few options for all of the finishes and furniture pieces.
