Once yearly, we attend this semi-annual show in North Carolina and each year we leave ever more impressed.
Approximately 70,000 people from all over the world descend on the small town of High Point to see the latest manufacturer products in furniture, decorative lighting, area rugs, art, accessories and fabrics. Some of our favorites are Caracole, Vanguard Furniture, Universal Furniture, Hooker Furniture and John Richard. We also discovered new names to follow, such as Theodore Alexander, Thayer Coggin and Ambella Home.
It’s energizing to see the wealth of new merchandise, as well as, unique and
spectacularly designed showrooms like this stunning gold-leaf drenched hallway
Below are some of this year’s trends:
• Emphasis on Mixed Materials: Brass continues to dominate but dark bronze is also quite popular and featured in designs by Thayer Coggin and Vanguard Furniture, like this nightstand with ginkgo lead drawer hardware (below).
• Organic Shapes: Featured on Vanguard Furniture end tables and cabinet hardware like this metal side table with a leaf pattern (below).
• Blush Pink: Color we saw throughout the High Point Market like this gorgeous headboard and bedside lamp (below).
